Geogrid

Basalt cement reinforced with basalt fibers is similar in structural characteristics to steel mesh reinforced concrete. However, basalt cement is superior in terms of strength and deformability. This is due to the high strength of basalt fibers and their better dispersion in the cement matrix.

Basalt cement is able to withstand significant elastic deformations because basalt fibers do not undergo plastic deformation in tension, surpassing steel in elasticity. During the curing process of cement stone, an aggressive environment is formed that causes surface damage to the fiber, resulting in the formation of shells. Although the strength of the fiber is reduced by 10%, these sinks increase the bond strength between the stone and fiber, which ultimately increases the strength of the product.
