Basalt polymer cylinders

Cylinder structures made of composite materials are typically structures formed by winding spiral and annular layers of reinforcing material distributed with varying densities along the shell wall of a composite cylinder.

Core for high voltage cables

A composite core for an electrical cable comprises an inner core with longitudinally oriented, substantially continuous fibers having a high modulus of elasticity superior to that of glass fibers. It also includes an outer core with longitudinally oriented, substantially continuous basalt fibers having an elastic modulus significantly higher than that of glass fibers. These fibers are embedded in a resin that cures to form a composite core.
